"The progressive regionalization of European citizens closer to European institutions," says Palacio.
The President of the Parliament of Cantabria, Miguel Angel Palacio, on Thursday inaugurated the seminar 'On and European citizenship practice', organized by the Europe House in Cantabria in the Palacio de la Magdalena which he rrred to the "progressive regionalization" that being produced in Europe.

He further explained that since April, and as a result of the Lisbon Treaty, regional parliaments have received 38 inquiries that come from the Parliament on the advice of the EU to discuss these initiatives and develop an opinion if you do not fit the principle of subsidiarity. More relevant than ever
Palacio stressed that the major objectives to be faced in the world and in the past demanded the EU to be built are still more relevant than ever. "Peace and Security, Democracy, the MDGs and economic development in harmony with nature push us to network both governments, and parliaments, citizens, unions and partnerships strengthen Europe, "he noted.

For its part Venancio Diego, chairman of the House of Europe in Cantabria, rrred to the need for furtheron the concept of European citizenship.
